On February 27, 2026, the Parist Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center co-organized the Forum on Promoting Business Engagement and Project Matchmaking through the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) in Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), Japan in collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MECC) of Mongolia and other partners.

The forum was held with the aim of promoting private sector business participation in the Mongolian carbon market through Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) projects and facilitating matchmaking for JCM projects. In addition, toward operationalizing  cooperative approaches referred to in  Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the forum promoted mutual understanding and practical exchange of views between the governments and private sectors of both countries.

In the presentation session by private companies and other organizations, various technology introduction cases and projects were presented, such as a financial support scheme by the Asian Development Bank, the construction of optimal waste management systems including waste-to-energy, agrivoltaics, district heating networks, ground-source and solar hybrid heat pumps, and grassland restoration through rotaional grazing. In the subsequent business matchmaking session, companies, government officials, and international organizations from both countries participated and exchanged views on the possibility of JCM project development through individual consultations.

A6IP Center will continue to work toward promoting and accelerating the utilization of the JCM and will contribute to Mongolia's decarbonization and the steady implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement through the formation and implementation of tangible projects in the country.
