On 21 August 2025, the Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) and IGES supported the Forum and Business Matching on the JCM in Indonesia in Jakarta, in collaboration with MOEJ, KLH, CMEA, and OECC. The Forum convened government representatives, private companies, and partners from Japan and Indonesia. The event brought together a total of around 380 participants (about 230 in person and 150 online, including organizers).
Government sessions reviewed Indonesia’s JCM progress and emphasized linkages with domestic systems, while Japan presented revised JCM rules, NDC contributions, and CCS/CCUS guidelines. The role of the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) and the concept of “nesting” in land-use projects were also discussed, highlighting opportunities for business participation.
In the afternoon, ten companies pitched a wide range of projects—from CCUS, Waste Management, Other hard-to-abate sectors and high-impact mitigation options, Peatland, AWD, REDD+, Biochar and NbS.
Business matching consultations facilitated dialogue between companies to explore collaboration opportunities, while Japanese and Indonesian government desks provided practical guidance on procedures and regulatory frameworks.
