Concept note and draft agenda is downloadable here.
The Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center, with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) serving as its secretariat, will support the “Forum on Promoting Business Engagement and Matching through the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) to Expand Indonesia’s Carbon Market”, to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 21 August 2025.
This forum, organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (CMEA), Ministry of Environment (KLH), and the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ), aims to promote project-based collaboration between Indonesian and Japanese private sector actors under the JCM. The event will also facilitate knowledge exchange and deepen practical understanding of carbon market mechanisms and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
The forum will provide key information on the latest JCM developments, including bilateral frameworks such as the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) and the Sustainable Projects Eligibility Index (SPEI), along with project cycles, crediting procedures, and methodologies. It will also feature technology and nature-based mitigation solutions relevant to Indonesia’s decarbonization priorities.
As part of the forum, a business pitch session will be held to showcase technologies and solutions applicable to the JCM. In addition, individual consultation meetings with Indonesian project stakeholders and companies will be arranged, providing opportunities for concrete project development.
