The Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center organized the fourth Plenary Meeting of the A6IP on March 19th, 2025.

Following the adoption of remaining Article 6 rules and guidelines at COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, 2025 is a critical year to transition towards Article 6 implementation, recognizing the important role of Article 6 in delivering tangible mitigation impacts and support countries in achieving net zero emissions. In doing so, Article 6 must be able to contribute to raising NDC ambition by promoting high-hanging fruits mitigation opportunities such as new technologies and innovations and enable scalability through partnership between the governments, private sectors and relevant stakeholders.

The Plenary Meeting brought together all partners from around the world and focused on:

  • Sharing experience in promoting development of new technologies and innovations for Article 6 projects, including nature-based and technology-based carbon removals; and
  • Presenting highlights from A6IP Article 6 Implementation Status Report (A6ISR) and outline activities for FY2025, including sharing the proposed activity plan, key milestones, initiatives, and opportunities for future collaboration under the Partnership.

The webinar was live streamed via YouTube on the IGES webiste.
