Business Forum on JCM Project Matchmaking and Advancing Article 6 Implementation in Bangladesh was held to promote the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement by fostering business engagement and facilitating JCM project matchmaking for carbon markets in Bangladesh. The event brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss the role of businesses in developing JCM projects and to create opportunities for meaningful partnerships.
Key Activities:
- Sessions to enhance understanding of Article 6 mechanisms and related policy frameworks.
- Discussions on private sector participation in carbon market development.
- Presentation of potential JCM project opportunities aligned with Bangladesh’s national climate goals.
- Matchmaking among potential partners to encourage low-carbon investment through JCM project formulation.
Outcomes:
- Improved awareness and capacity among participants regarding Article 6 mechanisms.
- Increased interest from private sector actors in engaging with carbon markets.
- Exchange of information on several potential JCM project opportunities.
- Strengthened collaboration between public and private stakeholders to advance low-carbon investment.
Through this forum, significant progress was made toward building a foundation for JCM project development in Bangladesh.
