The Paris Agreement Article 6 Partnership Implementation Center will co-host the “Bangladesh-Japan Environmental Cooperation Forum,” which is jointly organized by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) of Japan and the Department of Environment, Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change of Bangladesh, in Dhaka, Bangladesh on October 27, 2026. The forum is also co-organized by the Overseas Environmental Cooperation Center, Japan (OECC), and the JCM Implementation Agency designated by the Government of Japan.
The morning program will feature a session entitled “Key Environmental Challenges, Collaboration Needs in Bangladesh and Japan's Environmental Cooperation Frameworks.” Based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Department of Environment, Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Climate Change of Bangladesh on Environment, the session will aim to further strengthen bilateral environmental cooperation and deepen mutual understanding of the key environmental challenges and issues facing Bangladesh. It will also introduce specific initiatives and efforts undertaken by Japan that could contribute to addressing these challenges.
In the afternoon, the forum will feature “Accelerating JCM Implementation and Project Development in Bangladesh,” a session focused on the latest developments in JCM implementation. The session will share the latest updates on JCM projects in Bangladesh and introduce relevant case studies. It will also deepen participants’ understanding of Bangladesh’s carbon market-related policies and frameworks, with a view to facilitating the development and promotion of JCM projects in Bangladesh.

Registration deadline for in-person participation: October 9, 2026
If registrations for in-person participation exceed capacity, priority will be given to representatives from the business sector, and participants will be selected by lottery. Applicants will be notified of the results using their contact details provided at registration.
