The Paris Agreement Article 6 Implementation Partnership (A6IP) Center, with the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) serving as its secretariat, will support “Forum on Promoting Business Engagement in the JCM in Vietnam towards Readiness for Vietnam’s Carbon Market” in Hanoi, Vietnam from 22 to 23 July, 2025.
A6IP will support organizing a forum titled “Forum on Promoting Business Engagement in the JCM in Vietnam towards Readiness for Vietnam's Carbon Market” in Hanoi, Vietnam, organized by Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Viet Nam from July 22 to 23, 2025, to promote business participation in the JCM in Vietnam.
This forum will provide information on JCM projects, including the legal systems and infrastructure necessary for establishing and effectively operating a carbon market in Vietnam, as well as the latest developments and future possibilities related to JCM. It will also discuss the future of Japan-Vietnam cooperation in JCM.
In the latter half of this forum, A6IP will explain technical matters such as the latest information on the JCM credit issuance process, including the procedures of authorization related to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and the JCM methodologies. The center will also provide participants with the opportunity to visit actual JCM project sites to deepen their understanding of Japan's decarbonization technologies.
