Topic: Advancing JCM initial report preparation under Article 6

Objectives: The workshop aims to:

  • Enhance understanding of how the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) is implemented as a cooperative approach under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, including authorization and reporting requirements.
  • Support Partner Countries in preparing their Article 6 initial reports, particularly in relation to JCM cooperation with Japan.
  • Facilitate peer learning and exchange among Partner Countries on progress, challenges, and practical approaches to preparing initial reports.
  • Share lessons learned from the Article 6 Technical Expert Review (A6TER) of submitted JCM initial reports to help countries anticipate review expectations and improve reporting over time.
