In the event that a sat­is­fact­ory cov­en­ant is achieved in the nego­ti­ations under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment, Cuba intends to use cooper­at­ive approaches that involve the use of mit­ig­a­tion res­ults of inter­na­tion­al trans­fer in accord­ance with the men­tioned Article.

With the goal of increas­ing the par­ti­cip­a­tion of FRE in the energy mix, the total volumes to be achieved in the coun­try are not com­prom­ised […] If the neces­sary extern­al sup­port for the imple­ment­a­tion of the meas­ures is not received, the coun­try could resort to the mech­an­isms provided under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment to con­trib­ute to the imple­ment­a­tion of the Low-Car­bon and Resi­li­ent Trans­port Devel­op­ment Pro­gram. […] Cuba intends to resort to vol­un­tary cooper­a­tion under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment for emis­sion reduc­tions under Cat­egory 4A Forest Land not com­mit­ted in the NDC. If the neces­sary extern­al sup­port for the imple­ment­a­tion of the meas­ures con­di­tion­al on sup­port is not received, the coun­try could also resort to the mech­an­isms provided under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment to ensure com­pli­ance with actions that improve the country’s car­bon sink capacity.
