
A6IP Center participated in Asia Climate Summit (ACS) 2024 in India

Vibhas SUKHWANI, Regional Associate – South Asia of A6IP Center, participated in a panel discussion at the PMI (Partnership for Market Implementation) Regional Workshop on International Carbon Markets at the Asia Climate Summit (ACS) titled “Creating an Enabling Environment for Enhanced Participation in International Carbon Markets” on October 22, 2024.
SUKHWANI shared the A6IP team’s experiences on country capacity building needs and expectations, how those needs are being met, the gaps to fill, and the opportunities for better coordination and collaboration with diverse actors.
A6IP Center, including Bijon Kumer MITRA (Regional Lead – South Asia of A6IP Center), also met with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Government of India, Ministry of Power), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), to exchange information about A6IP’s ongoing efforts to enhance Article 6 implementation, as well as to discuss potential areas for collaboration in India.
During the event, A6IP Center also strengthened coordination with strategic partners, the UNFCCC secretariat, the World Bank, IETA, and other agencies, to explore potential of joint interventions for enhancing A6 implementation in South Asia.
