To har­ness this poten­tial in a con­crete man­ner, Morocco has already under­taken sev­er­al steps to oper­a­tion­al­ize the cooper­at­ive approaches of Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment with­in its ter­rit­ory, including:

• Rais­ing aware­ness and train­ing all stake­hold­ers to ensure the oper­a­tion­al­iz­a­tion of cooper­at­ive approaches under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agreement;
• Estab­lish­ing a nation­al Art­icle 6 frame­work clearly defin­ing the eli­gib­il­ity cri­ter­ia, pro­ced­ures, mod­al­it­ies, and dis­tri­bu­tion of roles and respons­ib­il­it­ies for issu­ing author­iz­a­tion decisions (Activ­it­ies, Entit­ies, and Trans­fer of ITMOs/​Carbon Credits);
• Strength­en­ing the engage­ment of stake­hold­ers, par­tic­u­larly the private sec­tor, with the devel­op­ment of a ded­ic­ated prac­tic­al guide to facil­it­ate their under­stand­ing and involve­ment in the car­bon mar­ket in Morocco.
