“Yes, when appro­pri­ate. Bangladesh has par­ti­cip­ated in the Clean Devel­op­ment Mech­an­ism of the Kyoto Pro­tocol and con­tin­ues to believe in the import­ant role of innov­at­ive fin­an­cing mech­an­ism for cli­mate actions with sus­tain­able devel­op­ment bene­fits. The cooper­at­ive approaches in mar­ket and non-mar­ket mech­an­isms under Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment are an import­ant instru­ment to raise mit­ig­a­tion ambi­tion while pro­mot­ing sus­tain­able development. “

• Bangladesh mit­ig­a­tion tar­gets under NDC 3.0 expli­citly define two levels of com­mit­ment: uncon­di­tion­al and con­di­tion­al. Mit­ig­a­tion activ­it­ies lis­ted under the con­di­tion­al com­mit­ment part of the NDC 3.0 will be con­sidered for devel­op­ment of car­bon cred­it pro­jects through Art­icle 6 of the Par­is Agree­ment • Mit­ig­a­tion Activ­ity not lis­ted in both con­di­tion­al or uncon­di­tion­al com­mit­ment i.e. bey­ond NDC com­mit­ment (for example advanced tech­no­lo­gies that requires tech­no­logy trans­fers and capa­city build­ing and not lis­ted in NDC 3.0) may be sup­por­ted through Art­icle 6.2, if any bilat­er­al cooper­at­ive approach (e.g. JCM) includes it and the GHG emis­sion is accoun­ted in the rel­ev­ant sec­tor of the nation­al GHG Invent­ory of Bangladesh.

• Bangladesh will ensure envir­on­ment­al integ­rity and link­age to sus­tain­able devel­op­ment goals of Bangladesh to all mit­ig­a­tion activ­ity sup­por­ted through the Art­icle 6 of the Par­is agree­ment. Bangladesh will take adequate meas­ure to avoid double count­ing of emis­sion reduc­tions through inter­link­age of nation­al registry with oth­er inter­na­tion­al registry and robust gov­ernance and insti­tu­tion­al arrange­ments for approv­al and author­iz­a­tion pro­cess, issu­ance of cred­it, cor­res­pond­ing adjust­ment and ITMO trans­fer, and peri­od­ic BTR report­ing • Bangladesh will con­sider Art­icle 6.2 and Art­icle 6.4 (PACM) and COR­SIA approved Vol­un­tary car­bon Mar­ket stand­ards as eli­gible Car­bon Stand­ards, along with any oth­er stand­ard approved by the Art­icle 6 DNA or the Gov­ern­ment of Bangladesh. Meth­od­o­lo­gies approved by the eli­gible Car­bon Stand­ards will be deemed eli­gible for car­bon cred­it pro­ject development.
