A6IP held a webinar to present the latest findings from the Article 6 Implementation Status Report (A6ISR), published in October 2025. The session featured opening remarks from the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, and detailed presentations by A6IP researchers.

The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session addressing implementation challenges, capacity gaps, and opportunities for scaling up cooperation. The full A6ISR and interactive maps are available here.

Webinar Objectives:

Review the Current Status of Article 6 Implementation Readiness: Present key findings on the progress of 100 Parties regarding the establishment of authorization, tracking arrangements, and reporting under Article 6.2 guidance.
Analyze the Momentum in International Cooperation and Carbon Market Activities: Discuss the growth in bilateral agreements, the status of the Article 6.4 mechanism (including prior consideration notifications and CDM transition requests), and the growing role of independent carbon standards in supporting Article 6 implementation.
Identify Critical Challenges, Support Needs, and Future Alignment with NDCs: Highlight the main challenges and barriers to implementation identified by the private sector and organizations, outline the most helpful types of support needed, and demonstrate how Article 6 can be used as a pivotal tool to enhance the ambition of the next round of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC 3.0).
