Forum on Advancing Article 6 Implementation through Business Engagement and JCM Project Matchmaking in Thailand

Business Forum on Advancing Article 6 Implementation through Business Engagement and JCM Project Matchmaking in Thailand was held to advance the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement through promoting JCM project matching and corporate engagement in Thailand. This event brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss the role of businesses in JCM project development and to create opportunities for meaningful partnership building.

Key Activities:

  • Sessions to enhance understanding of the JCM mechanism and support programs, Article 6 policy framework in Thailand, and key requirements and processes for implementing projects under the JCM track under Premium T-VER.
  • Presentations by Japanese and Thai companies showcasing advanced low-carbon technologies and project concepts aligned with Thailand’s positive list of eligible Article 6 project types.
  • Matchmaking opportunities among potential Thai and Japanese partners to encourage low-carbon investment through JCM project formulation.

Outcomes:

  • Improved awareness and mutual understanding among participants regarding the JCM and implementation of Article 6 in Thailand.
  • Increased interests from private sector actors in engaging with carbon markets.
  • Exchange of information on several potential JCM project opportunities.
  • Strengthened collaboration between public and private stakeholders to advance low-carbon investment.

Through this forum, business-driven contributions to climate action were strengthened, partnerships between Japan and Thailand were further promoted, and concrete progress was made toward accelerating Article 6 implementation in Thailand.
