Tunisia Submits Article 6.2 Initial Report on the JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism with Japan)

The Republic of Tunisia has submitted its Initial Report under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, reporting on its participation in the JCM (Joint Crediting Mechanism with Japan). The report is now accessible on the UNFCCC’s Centralized Accounting and Reporting Platform (CARP).

The A6IP Center assisted Tunisia in preparing the report by providing both online and in-person technical support and capacity-building services.

The A6IP Center is committed to maintaining its partnership with Tunisia in implementing A6 and operationalizing the JCM within the country.

Likewise, Tunisia is committed to implementing A6 and putting the JCM into action to achieve its NDC 3.0, specifically, and to ensuring the integrity of carbon markets.

“The submission of the A6IR marks not the conclusion of the collaboration journey; instead, it signifies the start. Nonetheless, it is recognized not just as a minor step but as a significant leap forward in applying A6 and realizing its full potential to bolster efforts to fulfill the Paris Agreement on climate change by 2050 and the SDGs by 2030,” remarked Mr. Kazuhisa Koakutsu, Director of the A6IP Center.
